The meeting is aimed at solving the diplomatic impasse between Uganda and Rwanda which culminated into the closure of the latter’s borders that has dragged for months now.

It should be remembered that recently presidents Yoweri Museveni of Uganda and Paul Kagame of Rwanda met in Luanda Angola and penned down ‘ceaze fire’ agreement that would culminate into the opening of the Rwanda boarder which has been closed for months to allow the counties reminisce the old brotherly tires they’ve enjoyed for decades.

Rwanda accused Uganda of arresting its citizens illegally and detaining them in illegal detention facilities without charges and trial, among others, all of which Ugandan authorities denied. Rwanda then responded by closing its boarders.
