By Peter Ssebulime

Kasese: The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has registered a case of misconduct by two head teachers in Kasese district.

In the course of the second week of the ongoing Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exams, the two headteachers are allegedly accused of going to pick exams from the police station while drunk.

The UNEB Manager for Examinations James Turyatemba said that the head teachers, whose names were withheld on request, are currently detained at Kasese Police station for acting irresponsibly, which posed a high risk to the security of examinations and will be charged with neglect of duty.

Turyatemba revealed that disciplinary and administrative sanctions against them will be taken by the Ministry of Education as prescribed in the teachers’ code of conduct.

However this Friday November 1st 2019 will be the briefing for at least 1,137,315 candidates that were registered for 2019 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
