UPL: Police FC Defeats MYDA As Mbarara City Beats SC Villa

Police FC thumped Tororo based side MYDA FC 6-1 in the Star-Times Uganda Premier League on Saturday at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Ben Ocen slotted home the opener with a clinical finish in the 3rd minute of the game thanks to Frank Tumwesigye’s beautiful cross into the area.

Before long Brian Muluuli jumped right to Node in the second for the corps in the 14th minute before he later assisted Tumwesigye to score the third just a minute later.

Muwadda Mawejje stretched the corps lead to 4-0 in the 27th minute before Muluuli completed his brace and fifth for the hosts with a fine header three minutes later.

At half time, Tonny Mawejje and young starlet Derrick Kakooza replaced Fahad Kizito and Muluuli. Later Coach Abdallah Mubiru made another double substitution introducing Sseninde and Ssenjobe replacing Mawejje and Reuben Kimera in the 61st minute.

Ocen sealed the victory with his second goal of the game and sixth for the corps ten minutes on the clock.

Moses Batali was given the man of the match award.

A win put the corps in the fourth position on the log with 37 points just three points behind Express in third.

At Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara city overcame SC Villa 2-1 thanks to Henry Kitengenyi’s late strike that gave the hosts a big win.

However, Jude Ssemugabi had put the hosts in the lead as early as the 9th minute following a perfect delivery from Okwalinga before Emmanuel Wasswa levelled matter in the 55th minute.
