UPL: Rwothomio Hands URA Victory As Villa, KCCA Camp In Struggling Mode

The Hattrick hero Cromwel Rwothomio inspired Uganda Revenue Authority football club to a 3-2 Victor against the newly promoted MYDA on Wednesday 17th February 2021 at King George IV Memorial Stadium in Tororo.

URA came into the game having disappointingly lost the previous game to Express at home, therefore, looking for redemption in this one.

Rwothomio headed in from the corner kick perfectly brought by skipper Shafik Kagimu in the 18th minute before he doubled the lead in the 21st minute again from a corner kick with a brilliant header again assisted by Kagimu.

Halftime ended 2-0 before the Flying Eagles pulled back one to make it 2-1 in the 55th minute courtesy of Norman Ogiki before Rwothomio stretched the lead to 3-1 completing his Hattrick on his first start of the season.

Later, the home side got the second goal from the penalty spot in the first minute of added time through Ibra Nsimbe to end the score 3-2.

The tax collectors are now seated in the 3rd position of the sixteen clubs table log behind table leaders Police and Vipers SC.

Elsewhere Kampala Capital City Authority FC fought back to snatch a point against Express FC following a 1-1 draw in a Ugandan Premier League game played on Wednesday at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Charles Lwanga slotted home a late equaliser to rescue the Kasasiro Boys and hand them a point after going down in the first half to a goal scored by Erick Kambale before the break.

Godfrey Lwesibwa would have opened the score inside five minutes but he ended up heading Arthur Kiggundu’s cross from a good position wide. Issa Lumu could not connect well with Lwesibwa’s corner moments later as the hosts saw another chance go to waste.

In the dying minutes when the Red Eagles were all destined for a win, a corner in the 88th minute by Hassan Musana altered everything as Lwanga headed home to ensure the tie ended in a draw.

The red eagles remain unbeaten in the season as the Kasasiro Boys picked up a point after losing the last three games. And KCCA continues to struggle having lost to BUL in Jinja in their previous and recent loss in the league game.

Meanwhile, Waksio Giants and SC Villa shared spoils 2-2  at Kabaka Kyabaggu, Stadium. The Purple Sharks took the lead in the 12th minute when Kipson Atuheire scored before Joseph Nsubuga added the second one in the 28th minute however, the Jogoos responded in the second half as Abdalla Salim slotted home a brace in the 54th minute and added the second in the added time to ensure the tie.
