The second round of the Star Times Uganda Premier League kicked officially off on Wednesday 31st March 2021 with Busoga United overcoming Onduparaka 2-0 at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

Magero Balabala put the hosts in the lead in just three minutes after converting from the spot following the caterpillars’ Hamza foul on Shaka Ssozi in the area.
Busoga United kept on making lethal attempts on the visitors’ goal and Isma Mugulusi should have doubled the lead in the 12th minute but his golden opportunity went to waste.

Two minutes later, Jeromy Kirya hit the cross bar to deny the hosts another perfect opportunity to make it two.
In the 35th minute there was a collision between Ssozi and the caterpillars’ custodian Tony Kyemera and called for the doctors to attend to both and later they stood strong.

Towards the break, Anthony Mayanja was booked for a reckless challenge on Onduparaka player before the centre referee blew the whistle for halftime.
The second half started with the hosts looking a better side, making more demanding attacks and it wasn’t long before Ssozi penetrated through the caterpillars’ defence to find Mugulusi who curled home beautifully to make to 2-0 in the 53rd minute for Busoga United.
Ssozi again terrorized the Onduparaka defence in the 69th minute to almost stretching the hosts lead but his effort was saved my the goalkeeper Kyamera.

Busoga’s Balabala was booked in the 78th minute for a tackle on Hakim Magombe before Franco Onen limped of with a knee injury six minutes later.
In three minutes of added time, Busoga United made a double substitution bringing Ashraf Batwawula and Joseph Opolot for George Kasonko and Franco Onen respectively and the hosts bagged the three points at Full time.
The league returns on Thursday with the Tororo based side MYDA hosting SC Villa at King George IV memorial stadium in Tororo at 4:00pm.
