UPL: Wakiso Giants Clobber Troubled Kitara FC In 7-2 Win

Kampala: It was a nine goals thriller as Wakiso Giants showcased a fantastic performance against a troubled Hoima based club Kitara FC clobbering the 7-2 in the Star-Times Uganda Premier League on Saturday at Kabaka Kyabagu Stadium in Wakiso.

Joshua Lubwama slotted home the opener from the spot in the 14th minute after striker Viane Sekajugo was brought down in the area.

Two minutes later, Hassan Ssenyonjo was forced off with a nasty injury and replaced by Gadaffi Wahabu.

Edward Satulo doubled the purple sharks lead with four minutes to the break. This was his maiden goal for the club before Viane Sekajugo stretched the score to 3-0 in the added time towards halftime.

Substitute Wahabu slotted home the fourth twelve minutes into the second half before Rahmat Ssenfuka netted the fifth in the 65th minute.

The hosts made a double substitution three minutes later introducing Komaketch and Amos Muwonge replacing Kaddu and Frank Ssebuufu.

In the 72nd minute, Sekajugo completed his brace with a beauty to make it 6-0 before goal scorer Lubwama was subbed off for Lawrence Bukenya five minutes later.

Another substitute Muwonge scored sealed the big win with the seventh in the 81st minute before Kusemererwa and Edison Agondeze pulled back two for Kitara in the 82nd and 85th respectively to end the game 7-2.

Elsewhere, Mbarara city overcame Onduparaka 2-1 at Kakyeka stadium with the goals scored by Henry Kitengenyi in the 58th and Bashir Mutanda in the dying minutes while Living Kabon scored for the caterpillars.

Meanwhile, Erick Kambale’s 22nd-minute goal was enough for Express FC to edge UPDF FC to remain unbeaten at home this season.

And lastly, Bright Stars secured all three points away to BUL FC in a 1-0 victory.
