Victoria University Launches Student Recruitment Program To Curb Unemployment

Kampala: The leading higher institution of learning in Uganda Victoria University has stretched its wings to not only empower youth with fight unemployment skills but also employing them to eradicate poverty that had since distorted their standards of living especially in this pandemic season.

This has been reached after the University launched an empowerment program dubbed “Join & Be Part Of Recruitment Team & Earn Commission” in a bid to educate poverty stricken youth more about the uniqueness of this university and its role towards development of Uganda through skills empowerment to its students.

In the new program, one is paid 10000 Uganda shillings cash for each students he/she registers to this University meaning that the more you bring the more you earn. This simply means that a person can get all the capital required to start up own business and jump out of unemployment.

The development comes after the same people’s University as its nicknamed, launched a community program dubbed “Diversify Your Skill” in partnership with secondary school teachers to improve the education sector in the country, but also, to improve on their financial muscles.

Mr Bill Nkeeto, the acting Vice-Chancellor Victoria University, said the program will help teachers build their capacity to interact better with the society in which they live, offer guidance and counseling, community remote learning and parental guidance during this COVID-19 pandemic period.

He added that the exercise is expected to generate market information about survival mechanisms of communities, interests and learning goals of University students under a mission of ensuring transformational education.

“They are in the way incapacitated, so as Victoria University that engages so much with the community trying to solve people’s problems, we felt a need for them to come we tell them about us, we see how we can work together in a number of ways” Bill added.
