Victoria University To Host Business Mogul Maggie Kigozi To Tip Ugandans On Success & Failure Of Family Businesses

Kampala: Uganda’s famous Victoria University has unveiled a business webinar preparations, this time focusing on success and failure of businesses, hence the theme; “The Succes and Failure Of Family Businesses In Africa” This webinar conference, according to our sources close to the organizers, will broadcast live on both Victoria University’s You-Tube channel and Facebook on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, from 11am-1pm.

The University this time round on the panel it has fronted Prof. Magie Kigozi (Director Crown Beverages Ltd) as a chief panellist, Nicholas Opiyo (Executive Director Chapter Four Uganda), Gideon Kirumira (Chairman trigger Enterprises Ltd), Natasha Sinayobye (Actress/Model), and Fred Poggo who is the moderator (Alumnus Marketeer/Entrepreneurship Victoria University).

According to the University management, the webinar is meant to empower entrepreneurs not only in Uganda but also in Africa and tip them on how they can avoid barriers that may lead to the collapse of their businesses and also provide to them tactics to boost their business.

“Most of the people yearn to start businesses in Uganda and some expand them to other Africa countries but most of them end up making billions of losses instead of profits, therefore we as Victoria University we don’t only empower our students with skills to succeed but we go beyond borders to tip colleges in other business fields on how to achieve success and its the reason we organized this webinar,” an organizer told our reporter.

This webinar follows among others the recent Real Estate Investment Post COVID-19 Era, Women in Entrepreneurship, Career Guidance Virtual Session that was also held recently during the pandemic season that aimed at empowering youth to overcome life’s hardships most especially during COVID-19.

The development comes days after the National Council for Higher Education inspected and cleared this University to re-open for students pursuing health-related programs following the presidential directive of reopening for candidates and finalists.

This was revealed in a letter addressed to the institution by the NCHE Executive Director Prof Mary N. Okwakol, which read; “Following the recent inspection of your institution by the team from National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) on 18th September 2020 to determine the level of readiness to re-open for the finalists undertaking Health-related training, I am pleased to inform you that your institution is considered ready for reopening.”
