It’s a moment of jubilation at Uganda’s leading private academic institution, Victoria University after its beauteous babe, Husinah Nassuna was named Miss Elite Uganda 2023/2024 during the Miss Uganda grand finale which was held last evening at UMA Multipurpose Hall.
The crown of Miss Uganda was scooped by Nakaseke District’s Hannah Karema Tumukunde, taking over from Elizabeth Bagaya who succeeded Oliver Nakakande who didn’t finish her reign when she traveled abroad for studies.
Professor Lawrence Muganga celebrating Nassuna’s achievement noted that it’s hard work and nurturing she is getting from Victoria University that earned her the prestigious title.
The 21yr old Nassuna is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in nursing at Victoria University.
”Victoria University is currently ranked the region’s best academic hub just because it offers effective education that is built upon acknowledging, nurturing, developing, and supporting our students’ passions, skills, interests, talents, and aspirations and we are convinced of the effectiveness of this educational approach,” said Prof.Muganga.

Prof.Muganga, an education evangelist who has for long been advocating for experiential learning, competency-based learning, and de-colonization of Uganda’s education system says all the academic institutions should pick a leaf from Victoria University and switch to a type of education that empowers students like Nassuna to explore and understand themselves better and work towards achieving their life goals instead of ‘jailing’ them in lecture rooms and heap on them theoretical lectures.
Meanwhile, Nassuna is now warming up to represent Uganda in the Miss Elite Africa contest, an international beauty pageant competition taking place late this year in Somabay, a modern town resort at the Red Sea, Egypt.
The above contest is one of the largest & most prestigious around the globe with 34 contestants from all over the world with an aim to find the most exceptional representatives to celebrate women’s beauty.
Each contestant presents her own nation’s identity along with distinctive beauty, culture, tradition, and ethnicity as a world platform.
