Weed War: Uganda Police Destroy Illegal Marijuana Gardens Worth Billions

Busia: Uganda Police and sister security agencies on Monday November 4, 2019 destroyed over 50 hectares of Marijuana gardens in Busia district.  

Spy Uganda has learnt that gardens in Bwaaya and Hawadoda villages in Masinya Sub-County, Busia District were destroyed in an operation led by Tinka Zarugaba, the Acting Anti-nicotine Commissioner in the fight against illegal trade and consumption of the banned substance in the area.  

He cautioned people against growing Marijuana and opt for other crops or else risk facing the law.

However, residents of Hawadoda village, said marijuana growing has been the main source of his household income, which has helped him educate his children.

Residentsurged government and called upon the president to intervene because they had been left with nothing to feed on neither anything to sustain their families.
