YUASA Boosts Vice President’s Easter Tournament With Sports Equipment

His Excellency the Vice President of  Uganda Prof. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, a renowned sports fan, came up with an initiative of promoting soccer talent among youth in Masaka District through a football tournament dubbed  Easter Cup.

For that noble cause,  YUASA Investments Limited, a Japanese company that manufactures car batteries, applauded Prof. Ssekandi’s vision of supporting sports by donating an assortment sports equipment to facilitate the tournament.

On Tuesday , YUASA officials handed over items like footballs, jerseys, whistles, boots, gloves and other sports equipment to the Vice President, whom they met at his office at parliament.

While handing over these equipment to YUASA’s Salongo Sebanakiita Masagazi said that “We have been supporting sports through different possible angles and this year we decided to support this tournament because we think it’s the way to promote talent among youth and all people in Uganda.”

Furthermore, Salongo promised the Vice President that they are not only donating equipment but will also offer media coverage for this tournament from  the beginning to its end on their own facilitation. 

However, the Vice president Commended YUASA support for sports and asked all Ugandans to pick a leaf from what YUASA has done. 

He further thanked YUASA for being among the key sponsors of football events in Uganda, which he said is of great benefit to have companies like YUASA which value Social Corporate Responsibility. 

“I am happy for YUASA’s continued support to the sports fraternity and they have been recognized among the key sponsors of football events in Uganda. Therefore it’s of great benefit to have companies like YUASA that value the communitt they operate in.”

YUASA is a Japanese, company which are one of the world’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of valve regulated lead-acid batteries in Uganda, and a broad and have previously sponsored clubs like Wicklow, drummers among others locally and internationally
