Their prosecution was effected vide case number UDC/041/18 Uganda vs Cpl Ssenkungu Daniel and others.
The Deputy Army spokesman Lt. Deo Akiiki apologized on behalf of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
“This is to regret this unfortunate incident and to assure the public that such conduct is unacceptable and anyone who breaks the law will be held to account,” he said.
Social media is still abuzz with fury over the impunity and callousness of the abductors who were seen in broad day light, around lunch time, gun-butting Yusuf in the chest and stomach, before forcefully dragging him into a waiting commuter taxi number UAF 325S. As the taxi drove off, the man could be heard painfully crying out for help.
Yusuf is linked to People power and Democratic party’s youth wing, Young Democrats.
