Kampala: The head of National Unity Platform (NUP) legal department and Bobi Wine’s top lawyer, Anthony Wameli Yeboah has been rushed to United States for specialized treatment after his life continued to deteriorate in Ugandan hospitals.
Wameli’s life started worsening on 29 May 2021 which saw him being hospitalized at St. Anthony Medical Center in Kasangati, Wakiso District due to stomach related complications.
According to some sources, Wameli who has been at the forefront of all criminal cases against Bobi Wine, and all his supporters was battling severe peptic ulcers weeks before he was hospitalized.
Wameli is a senior lawyer at Wameli & Co Advocates and Solicitors, Kampala Uganda, a businessman and a human rights advocate.
Wameli was the lead lawyer that represented Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine’s election petition case filed to the Supreme Court seeking nullification of President Museveni’s January 2021 victory.
