The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially unveiled the coaching panel for the Uganda National Team ahead of the upcoming CHAN 2024 tournament, set to run from August 2nd to August 30th, 2025, across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania under the historic Pamoja East Africa hosting arrangement.

The newly appointed coaching team will be led by Fred Muhumuza and Morley Byekwaso, both seasoned tacticians with a strong track record in local and regional football. Their selection marks a decisive step in Uganda’s preparations for the prestigious continental championship, which features only home-based players.

FUFA confirmed that the duo will work closely with Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Put, who will provide overall supervision and technical direction throughout the tournament. This collaborative model is designed to ensure cohesion between the national senior team’s vision and the CHAN squad’s performance.

“It is our game, it is our country,” FUFA stated, reiterating its commitment to nurturing local talent and ensuring that Uganda fields a competitive and well-prepared squad for CHAN 2024.

Uganda will be looking to make a strong statement on home soil during the Pamoja CHAN tournament, leveraging the enthusiasm of local fans and the leadership of an experienced coaching bench.
