Kampala: The government of Uganda through the Ministry of Education and Sports has released a radio learning timetable for both secondary and primary classes as one of the ways of preventing physical gatherings that are said to be the spreader of COVID-19.

According to the statement seen by our spy, these lessons will be aired on various stations across the country which the government says is aimed at ensuring continuity of learning to curb the dead academic year.
Based on the timetable, these lessons will be aired starting on the 16th August 2021 for P6, S1, S2, S3 and S5 from Monday to Friday.

As a result, therefore, the government has tasked parents and guardians to support learners with Radio sets and to also allow them time to Tune in to Various Radio stations in order to attend the lessons.
BUT, it should be remembered that in July 2020, during the first pandemic lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus disease, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni promised that the government would procure and distribute 10 million radio sets to households countrywide.
The lockdown had led to the closure of all educational institutions of learning right from Kindergartens, Primary and Secondary Schools including Universities and Tertiary Institutions which interrupted normal classes for 1.5 million learners.
On June 18 when Museveni re-imposed the second lockdown, the Ministry of Education revived the radio lessons to be conducted on 15 selected radio stations across the country, this time targeting Primary 3 and 4 classes without fulfilling the promise something that left Ugandans wondering about what they called ”Museveni’s broad day lies”.
According to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, the procurement of the 10 million radio sets would require Shillings 336.8 billion but till today nothing has ever been fulfilled other than releasing timetables as seen in the link below;
