Link Bus Fatal Accident Kills one, Injures 15

Police in Savannah region have kicked off investigations to establish what caused a Link Bus accident that killed one passenger and injured 15 others on board enroute to Hoima from Kampala on Monday.

The file has been opened at Kikonda Police station vide TAR/19/2018 on Monday at 1700hrs involving a link bus Reg. No. UAL 780L from Kampala to Hoima.

The accident also involved a Fuso lorry Reg. no. UBB 703E loaded with cows heading to Kampala from Hoima and a goat that was trying to cross the road.

It’s alleged that the driver of the fuso lorry not yet identified was trying to save the goat but lost control, killed the goat and collided with the bus killing instantly one person, injuring 15 others.

According to Savannah regional Police Spokesperson Paul Kangave, the Traffic police visited the Scene and examined it. The deceased was identified as okethi Albert, amale adult aged 33years, resident of Kisenyi – Buseruka Sub county, Hoima District. “The driver of the bus identified as Asaba Siraj and 14 others have been rushed to Hoima referral hospital for treatment pending identification, the link Bus and Fuso lorry are parked at Kikonda police station parking yard pending IOV inspection,” he said.
