Kayanga, Kazo District was brought to life on 6th February 2026 as Lt. Kankiriho Kivuna, a Member of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) and a marine soldier attached to the Marine Forces patrolling Lake Victoria waters, officially tied the knot with his longtime partner Ambikiiire in a colorful and well-attended wedding ceremony.

The highly anticipated event marked the climax of a series of matrimonial celebrations and was widely hailed as a resounding success, blending cultural elegance, prestige, and national significance. From early morning, guests poured into Kayanga, where the venue was transformed into a spectacle of beauty, tradition, and refined décor.

High-Profile Attendance & Diplomatic Presence

The ceremony attracted an impressive lineup of dignitaries from political, diplomatic, and security circles. Among the key attendees was PAP Chairman, dubbed Speaker Andrew Irumba Katusabe, who is also the CEO of TheSpy Uganda, alongside several senior diplomatic officials and representatives from different security organs.

Their presence not only honored the couple but also highlighted Lt. Kankiriho’s stature as both a disciplined military officer and a respected continental legislator. The gathering reflected strong camaraderie between national security institutions and Pan-African leadership.
The wedding followed a successful Giveaway (Kuhingira) ceremony held a day earlier in Kyeera, Sembabule District, where family elders performed traditional rites and formally handed over the bride in accordance with cultural customs. This cultural foundation set the tone for the grand wedding that followed.
On the wedding day, the couple arrived to warm applause, dressed elegantly and radiating joy, as they exchanged vows in the presence of family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers. The ceremony was marked by music, dance, heartfelt speeches, and a deep sense of unity.

Lt. Kankiriho, known for his dedication to safeguarding Uganda’s territorial waters on Lake Victoria, was widely praised by speakers for balancing national duty with personal commitment. Ambikiiire was equally praised for her grace and support, with speakers noting that the union symbolized partnership, strength, and shared purpose.
