Kampala:The Management of Fame Lounge in Kampala has issued a statement indicating why they fired popular NBS TV presenter and city emcee Edwin Katamba aka Mc Kats.
In their statement, Fame Lounge management explain that Kats, who has been hosting a night dubbed ‘Meet Celebrity Wednesday’ , failed to meet the company set goals and make sales as he claimed. The management also accuses him of being a disgrace, disrespectful to both his bosses and the clientele, on top of making them incur losses in unpaid alcohol bills worth millions of shillings.
The Fame Lounge statement reads in part thus; “… To be precise, his relationship with management has by far been lacking during the short spell MC Kats has been working with us. Management has tried their best to contain his unbecoming behaviour for instance the persistent taking of stock on credit and refusal to clear the bills thereafter….”
They add that “He has always belittled Management with phrases like ‘I fear only God’. Worse still, Management couldn’t bear the fact that MC Kats has never made any sales on his nights that equal to 3 million as he claims, and he is the same gentleman for whose services FAME pays 1.5 million every show which most times exceeds 2 million shillings inclusive of unpaid bills. We are a company that is a bigger brand than Mc Kats and we cannot take any more of Mc Kats’ Ridicule and that’s why his services were terminated…”
MC Kats Reacts
Meanwhile, shortly after being fired by Fame Lounge, Kats reacted by writing thus on social media, “HAve worked in the bar business for close to 15 years (List of bars where he worked)…Have never ever been fired But when you treat me like Amnt making u money I walk. Amnt from Abrock family but I choose this Road coz its what I love….”
