Min. Tumwebaze Boosts Fight Against Coronavirus By Donating Liquid Soap, Safety Gear To Kamwenge People

The Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development Hon. Frank Kagyigi Tumwebaze, has joined the government fight against deadly Coronavirus by donating several boxes of safety gear, liquid soap, fuel and detergents to people of Kamwenge district.

Tumwebaze handed over the assorted items to the Anti-COVID-19 Taskforce in Kamwenge district on Tuesday this week, shortly after which he tweeted thus;  “I met our Kamwenge district COVID19UG taskforce today morning and we discussed the readiness of our district system and operations of our Hub at Rukunyu. The health workers are doing a great job. I donated through the DHO, to our health workers protective gear materials worth Shs5.5m.”

He added that “The protective gear materials bought from JMS include; gloves, detergents, masks, aprons & boots for the frontline health workers. I also gave 250 litres of diesel to the emergency district vehicles. I am happy that our people are compliant and are taking this #COVID19UG fight seriously.”

It should be noted that washing hands frequently and wearing protective gear like masks, gloves, aprons etc are among the directives issued by  President Yoweri Museveni this week and some of the measures aimed at preventing the spread of the deadly Coronavirus, which has claimed hundreds of thousands of people globally.
