Ministry Of Justice Mourns Passing Of State Attorney Martha Namusaabi

The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs is in mourning following the sudden passing of Ms. Martha Namusaabi, a State Attorney in the Directorate of First Parliamentary Counsel. Her untimely death occurred on the morning of Thursday, July 3, 2025.

Ms. Namusaabi was widely respected for her dedication, legal acumen, and professionalism within the Ministry and across government circles. Her role in the Directorate of First Parliamentary Counsel saw her contribute significantly to the drafting of key legislative instruments, playing a crucial part in Uganda’s legal and policy framework.

A formal death announcement released by A-Plus Funeral Management on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Mr. Bageya Waiswa, and family, confirmed her passing with “deep sorrow,” describing her as a beloved daughter whose loss has left the family and colleagues devastated.

A funeral service in her honor will be held at Watoto Church, Ntinda, on Friday, July 4, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM. A vigil will follow at her family’s home on Kiwatule M. Kaggwa Road, near Naalya Northern Bypass.

Ms. Namusaabi will be laid to rest at her ancestral home in Namusisi Village, Nawandala Sub-County, Iganga District, on Sunday, July 6, 2025. The burial will be preceded by a funeral service starting at 10:00 AM.

She is survived by her family, colleagues, and countless friends who have expressed heartfelt condolences and paid tribute to her life of service.

The Ministry of Justice described her as “a committed public servant whose contribution to Uganda’s legal system will not be forgotten.”
