Kyambogo University Vice Chancellor, Prof Elly Katunguka and wife Ketra Katunguka who happens to be a judiciary in Uganda’s Judiciary, are accused of buying an encumbered land belonging to a widow when it even has a caveat.

In a presser held this week in Nyakabirizi, Mbarara District, the complainants who belong to the family of Mzee Kezekia Katukura made the outcry to the President HE.Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Minister of Lands Hon Judith Nabakooba to intervene and save their land.

Mrs Jane Rushejera and her sibling’s grandchildren and great grandchildren of Mzee Katukura accuse their step mother, Kyomukundi Ephrance of selling most of the properties that their father/grandfather left behind without authority and disregarding the caveat.

”Imagine losing all the 49 hectares of land. Our father had lands in Bushenyi, had tea gardens among others but the woman sold all of them and by then we were still kids we had nothing to say,” says Rushejera.

They claim that even when they tried seeking justice from the Court, they have not been helped in a case that has rotated for 20yrs now.

They accuse Justice Katunguka of using her powers as judge in judiciary to sit on their case which has since stalled in Mbarara High Court.

”We kindly request Chief Justice Owiny Dollo to intervene and save us from this Katunguka’s wife who is using her powers to deny us justice,” Rushejera cried out.

”But amidst all this, we shall continue to appeal until we all die because others have died. I have been hiring lawyers from Kampala but all the monies have perished for nothing. I have been here supporting Museveni for decades but this corruption is making me hate this government. Because for all the 20yrs we have battling with Katunguka in court, its corruption that has been working,” added Rushejera.
