Police in Kampala have launched investigations into the death of Owor David, popularly known as “Colgate,” a 28-year-old captain of Sports Club Villa, who died after he was allegedly attacked by unidentified assailants.

Owor, a resident of Dubai Zone in Makindye Division, was reportedly attacked on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, along Nalinya–Mpologoma Road.

According to police, passers-by found him unconscious after the incident and rushed him to Sir Albert Cook Hospital for medical attention. He was later referred to Case Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, with police yet to establish the motive or identify the people responsible.

Police at Katwe Division have since opened a case as detectives work to reconstruct events leading to the attack and death.

“The scene of the incident has been documented and processed to ensure that all relevant evidence is collected and preserved,” Kawala said.

She said investigations were ongoing to establish the circumstances under which Owor was attacked and identify those responsible.
