Saudi Gov’t Inks MoU With Mufti Mubaje To Promote Islam In Uganda

The Minister of Saudi Arabia’s Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Islamic affairs with the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council in Jeddah on Wednesday.

The MoU was signed from the Ugandan side by the President of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council and Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Mubaje.

The agreement focuses on promoting Islam and highlighting its relevance to contemporary issues through various collaborative initiatives. These include the exchange of visits by scholars and preachers, participation in events, conferences, and symposiums related to Islamic calls and guidance held in both countries.

Additionally, the MoU emphasizes the exchange of expertise, information, books, research, publications, and news items in the field of Islamic call and guidance. It also encompasses the organization of joint conferences and training seminars for preachers and imams working in the field of Islamic affairs.

During the signing ceremony, Sheikh Mubaje acknowledged the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s leading role in the Islamic world and its significant efforts in serving Muslims. He expressed his belief that the agreement would have a positive impact on the Muslim community in Uganda.
