The speaker of Parliament of Uganda, Rt.Hon.Rebecca Kadaga has been airlifted to Nairobi Hospital for more specialized medical care after her health worsened at Nakasero Hospital where she had been admitted since Thursday.
According to her press secretary Sam Obbo, the speaker was airlifted to Aga Khan Hospital on the advice of the doctors in Kampala. “The speaker always has a busy schedule and this has broken her down. “She is now leaving for Aga Khan in Nairobi on the advice of the Doctors at Nakasero Hospital,” he said, not wanting to divulge into details.
Kadaga was rushed to Nakasero hospital in Kampala on Thursday night. This was after she returned from Morocco and the US, and according to the parliament, it’s fatigue and jet-lag disturbing her health.
President Museveni was the first to rush to Nakasero Hospital on Friday Morning to check on his longtime political ally.
Mr.Museveni arrived at the Hospital at 11:40am on Thursday. His convoy kept outside the hospital while only two of his vehicles entered the hospital gate.
He was immediately taken to where the speaker was where he spent about 15mins in the room.
According to the deputy presidential press secretary Lindah Nabusayi, the president was concerned about Kadaga’s condition.
Many people including MPs later on thronged the hospital to check on the 64 year old law maker, but were unable to see her as entry to her private room was restricted.
