It was a thrilling moment of joy for Emmanuel Wamala, a celebrated Ugandan cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church, and former Archbishop of Kampala, who was yesterday treated to a lavish birthday party by business magnet Sudhir Ruparelia.
Wamala clocked 96 years this week. He was born 15 December 1926.
Wamala for the last many months has been away from public and decided to keep home due to age. In respect of this, big hearted tycoon Sudhir decided to drive to his residence at Nsambya to celebrate the man of God.
Sudhir told a congregation of about 60 people who joined him on the party that he had to organize Wamala’s birthday as one of the ways of thanking him for the good deeds he has done for Ugandans for the last couple of years.
”Cardinal Wamala is a symbol of unity, he led the faithful well and was never segregating,” said tycoon Sudhir, the Chairman of Ruparelia Group of Companies.
