Kampala: Referees in Uganda are set to go through fitness test exams on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo-TheSpy Uganda has learnt.

According to the Association’s Chairman, Mr. Ronnie Kalema who spoke to our reporter on Saturday, February 24, 2021, only Uganda Premier League referees will participate in the exercise.
TheSpy Uganda has since learnt that referees will start with medical examinations on Saturday 27th February 2021 at FUFA House Mengo before the main exercise that will take off the following day.
Mr.Kalema said that the session will be focusing on checking the endurance of the referees, speed, and acceleration to match the modern game.

Mr.Kalema further noted that the exercise is meant to establish the referees’ fitness levels as well as to update and refresh their knowledge and skills in the discharge of their abilities. (https://590thefan.com/)
“We are looking at updating the participants [referees] on the Laws of the Game as well as evaluate their fitness and technical abilities,” added Mr.Kalema.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time the referees’ fitness test has been carried out in Uganda noting the previous one that was held last year at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
