Social media is awash with a video of army and police officers raining canes on a group of men who are lying down helplessly.
In the said video which has been viewed and shared widely on social media, the cops and soldiers whip the men after they reportedly found them seated in a group drinking local brew, yet the Ministry of Health issued a directive to Ugandans to maintain social distance.
Besides not maintaining social distance the men in the video were found not wearing face masks, yet President Yoweri Muveni directed all Ugandans to wear face masks when in public places as a one of the measures to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
However, our Spies are hunting for more details about this video, where it was recorded from and whether the act of caning adult Ugandans because of flouting COVID-19 health guidelines is condoned by the UPF and UPDF.
