“I Wouldn’t Be Without Them”-Minister Tumwebaze Dedicates 45th Birthday To His Parents For Tireless Support

Kampala: The Minister of Gender and Social development dubbed Kibale East legislator Hon Frank Tumwebaze Kagyigyi yesterday clocked 45 years of the life of usefulness to his country he has served from his youthful stage with no or less capacity till date in his ability as a Minister a position he secured on14th, December 2019.

However, you should not forget that before being appointed as Minister of Gender, he previously served as Minister of Information Technology and Communications, from 6 June 2016 to 13 December 2019 when he handed over to Minister Judith Nabakooba.

He was Minister for the Presidency and Minister for the Kampala Capital City Authority between 2012 and 2016. He is also the elected Member of Parliament for Kibale County in Kamwenge District, on the National Resistance Movement political party ticket.

Taking you back to his 45th birthday, Tumwebaze just like any other well raised, loyal and moral child, he still remembers and values that if it was not his duo parents Mr Matayo Kagyigyi and wife Beatrice Kagyigyi Mukyaara, he could not be where he is hence dedicating his lavish birthday to him.

Tumwebaze who was born in Kamwenge District on 1 December 1975, he is the fifth-born in a family of seven children.

Tumwebaze tweeted about his parents thus; “I always dedicate this day to my parents; my late mother Mukyara; my hero & Mzee Kagyigyi; the great hustler. They endured a lot to make us b!”

Later, Tumwebaze also thanked his friends for the love they have showered him since day one of his life on earth. He tweeted about his friends thus: “Thank u all friends for ur messages of love & best wishes on my 45th BD. I thank the almighty God for the gift of life, family & friends.”

Little About Tumwebaze’s Fruitful Life To His Country

Beginning in 2000 until 2001, he served as a customs officer with the Uganda Revenue Authority. In 2001, he was appointed deputy resident district commissioner and was posted to Iganga District, serving in that capacity until 2003.

He was then brought into State House, where he served as a special presidential assistant for research and information from 2003 until 2005. In 2006, he entered elective politics by contesting the parliamentary constituency of Kibale County in Kamwenge District. He was elected on the National Resistance Movement political party ticket. In 2011, he was re-elected.

In a cabinet reshuffle on 15 August 2012, he was appointed as minister for the presidency. He replaced Kabakumba Masiko, who resigned from the government on 14 December 2011 following allegations of “abuse of office”, “theft by taking”, “causing monetary loss to the government” and “conspiracy to defraud the government.”

In June 2016, he was named as cabinet minister of ICT. In a cabinet reshuffle on 14 December 2019, Tumwebaze was named minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, replacing Janat Mukwaya, who was dropped from the cabinet.
