Just In: Jubilant Frank Tumwebaze Declared Unopposed For Kibale East!

Kampala: The latest from Kamwenge district is that Electoral Commission (EC) has declared Gender Minister Frank Kagyigyi Tumwebaze as unopposed Member of Parliament for Kibale East after his rivals opted to withdraw their candidature over unknown reasons.

Kamwenge EC chairman Magezi William reveals, “The commission received and considered withdrawal notices of candidature by Atuhaire George Wilson and Nuwagaba Arthur from the parliamentary race for Kibale East County Constituency in Kamwenge Electoral District.”

Thereafter, he declared, “I Magezi George William duly nominated Tumwebaze Frank Kagyigyi and Atuhaire George Wilson on 15th October 2020 and Nuwagaba Arthur on 16th October 2020 for Member of Parliament for Kibale East County Constituency in Kamwenge Electoral district.”

Tumwebaze joins a list of several candidates from different constituencies who have already secured seats in the 11th parliament after being declared unopposed.

Unopposed candidates include Emely Kugonza, who is the NRM flag bearer for Buyanja East, Kibaale District,  Mr Pius Wakabi (NRM), Bugahya County in Hoima District, Mr Hilary Lokwang (NRM), Ik County, Kaabong District.

Others are Lillian Papalu Obiale (NRM) Woman Representative to Parliament, Arua District, Mr Enock Nyongore (NRM), Nakaseke North, Nakaseke District and Gyavira Ssemwanga (NRM) Buyamba County, Rakai District.
