Whereas most Ugandans were downing beers,wines,whiskeys, spirits and other uptown tribes of booze,Charles Don Wanyama,the senior Press secretary to the President was busy gulping a local brew known as Malwa!
Wanyama,who had gone to his home village in Namabasa in Eastern Uganda made it a point to publicize his‘Maalo’ by even posing for a selfie with young girls in the background, which he later posted on social media with the caption;
“Duncan Abigaba you must have read about Thengeta,the drink of lifebin Ngugi Wa Thiongo’s ‘Petals of Blood’.Here in Namabasa,we are feeling the pangs of Virgin Mary’s labour through our own version of Thengeta,”he posted.
Don continued; “Iam sure the wine-sipping Matthew Bagonza looks at us like third rate citizens, Well, we guess this is his way of balancing the boat,”
