Victoria University has officially joined the list of institutions accredited to teach law in Uganda, following approval by the Law Council’s Committee on Legal Education and Training. This milestone affirms the university’s commitment to academic excellence and its growing reputation as a center for professional legal education.

The accreditation, dated 6th May 2025, came after a comprehensive and rigorous inspection process conducted by the Law Council. The committee confirmed that Victoria University meets all the necessary academic, infrastructural, and professional standards required to run a law program effectively.

This endorsement follows an earlier nod from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), which mid-last year approved the university’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program. With both NCHE and Law Council approval, Victoria University is now fully authorized to enroll students into its law faculty.

Strategically situated along Jinja Road in the heart of Kampala City, Victoria University offers a prime learning environment with modern facilities, a digitally enhanced campus, and a diverse student body from across the globe. Its location ensures easy accessibility for students and professionals alike, contributing to its appeal as a premier academic institution.

Victoria University’s inclusion on the Law Council’s list underscores its growing stature in Uganda’s higher education sector. As legal education becomes increasingly competitive and vital in shaping future justice systems, the university’s entry into this field marks a significant step forward for both students and the country’s legal fraternity.
