Kampala: Old Kampala Police are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation into a tragic incident involving the attempted murder of famous Pastor Alloysious Bugingo, the director of House of Prayer Ministries and the unfortunate killing of his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard.
Pastor Bugingo was attacked by unknown gunmen on Tuesday night in Nansana as his driver drove him back home. However Bugingo is currently admitted at Mulago National Referral Hospital and out of danger according to latest reports.
”At approximately 9 PM on January 2nd, 2024, unidentified assailants opened fire on Pastor Bugingo’s vehicle, registered as PRAIZ GOD, along Namungona Zone 2 , kasubi Rubaga Division Kampala at Bwalakata Junction along National Housing Road before swiftly escaping the scene on a motorcycle” police said in a statement.

”Despite sustaining injuries during the attack, Pastor Aloysious Bugingo managed to transport the vehicle to Mulago Hospital. Regrettably, his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard, succumbed to the assault and was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital. Currently, Pastor Bugingo is undergoing medical treatment and is under close monitoring” Police added.
Meanwhile, as police vowed to hunt down the assailants, preliminary investigations further indicated that the crime scene was already tempered with.
”Upon an immediate response to the incident, the police discovered that the scene had been tampered with. Statements from eyewitnesses have been diligently recorded, and the deceased’s body has been conveyed to the City Mortuary at Mulago for a thorough postmortem examination” Police further noted.
Pastor Aloysius Bugingo is a Ugandan born-again pastor and businessman. He is the Director of Salt Media Group of Companies, and House of Prayer Ministries church in Makerere, Kikoni, Kampala.
The famous and most controversial pastor in Uganda today was named the most influential born-again preacher by the East Africa Book of Records recently.
