By Patrick Jaramogi

Kampala, Uganda: Police Football Club will have to gratify its goalkeeper, Davis Mutebi for making them survive ejection into round 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, by the underdog, and lower league side, Calvary.

Mutebi put up a spectacular show when he saved two penalties after a goalless draw. Following a goalless draw after 90 minutes, the goalie did the job to save the Cops from exit at the expense of a regional side saving Thwalib Kassim and Anzuvuku Savior spot kicks.  Police’s goals spot kicks were converted by team captain Sadat Kyambadde, Ibrahim Kibumba, Ronald Nyanzi and Yasin Mugume. The progress means Police have improved from last season’s performance after falling to Vipers 3-1 at this stage.

Meanwhile SC Villa were stunned by Regional side, Nkambi Coffee 2-0, while Kitara beat U-Touch 4-0, Bukedea won 2-1 against Free Stars to join Vipers in the round of 16 after they beat Kansai Plascon 4-0 at St. Marys Stadium Kitende on Tuesday.
