Kampala: The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has endorsed Victoria University’s state-of-the-art online learning system that is at an international level.
This has been revealed via a letter seen by this website where NCHE notes,”I am pleased to inform you that after due consideration, the National Council for Higher Education has granted you permission to continue implementing the Emergency Open Distance and e-Learning system (ODeL) and to also conduct online examinations for only programmes accredited by the National Council for Higher Education for Twelve (12) months.”
Equipped with dozens of courses that are at an international level, Victoria University in the same NCHE letter was informed that after the COVID-19 lockdown has eased, ”it will no longer be tenable to run the Emergency ODeL system instead Institutions shall be required to apply for the implementation of ODeL methodologies using the minimum standards as approved by the National Council for Higher Education.”
The University has since reacted to the NCHE letter, ”Victoria University Keeps Winning We are the only university in Uganda that implemented online classes and exams during the lockdown.
