In Tuesday’s 12th Presidential address on pandemic COVID-19 Yoweri Kaguta Museveni revealed that he will announce new guidelines about the Coronavirus lockdown before May 5th, which is the end of the 21-Day curfew he announced early this month.

However it’s not the same case with neighboring South Sudan after the country on Tuesday reviewed a nationwide curfew to run daily from 7:00Pm to 6:00Am effective Wednesday April 29th until further notice, after previously running from 8:00Pm to 6:00Pm.

The decision came after health authorities announced that 28 more people have tested positive for Coronavirus, raising the total number to 34 in a short period of time.

According to the authorities, the new guidelines and curfew is to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus that is swiftly engulfing the nation.

In a statement on Tuesday, the high-level taskforce on COVID-19 said all tea and Shisha stalls will remain shut while restaurants would be allowed to offer takeaway services only.

The high-level taskforce banned all passenger boda-bodas and said violators will be prosecuted.

According to the taskforce, a total of 139 people were tested for the virus on April 28.

“Of these, 28 cases were confirmed positive while 10, including two truck drivers at Nimule border point were equivocal and need a retest,” the statement said.

It further said all the new cases are contacts of the fifth patient, who is a member of the Tonj Community Peace Initiative.

TheSpy Uganda reminds the general public that the novel Coronavirus virus is spread when an infected person coughs or sneezes and the droplets land in the mouths and noses of another person.

A person can also get infected with Coronavirus by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or their eyes i.e soft parts.

The most effective ways to protect yourself and others against COVID-19 are; frequently clean your hands, cover your cough with the bend of an elbow or tissue, and maintain a distance of at least 4 meters from people who are coughing or sneezing.
