The Territorial Police in Kiboga yesterday 17/03/23 at around 2200/C registered a fatal accident at Mataagi village, Bukomero Town council along Kampala – Hoima highway in Kiboga District.
Police spokesperson Fred Enanga says the accident which involved motor vehicle registration numbers UAH 053Q (Prado Land Cruiser) and UBB 059Z (Fuso fighter) claimed the life of Kirungi Kadiri, the Chairman LC5 Hoima District and his escort Police Constable Otim Bosco.
The above was after Fuso which was traveling from Kampala to Kiboga side driven by a yet-to-be-identified driver tried to dodge a pothole at Mataagi bridge before it swerved off from its lane.
”The vehicle after swerving off from its lane met motor vehicle Prado which was heading to Kampala side from Hoima. It was being driven by LC5 Kadiri making a head-on collision and he died on spot with his escort,” says Uganda Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga.
He says the bodies of the deceased were conveyed to Kiboga hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
