Ibrahim Muyingo, the Minana Village LC I Chairperson, said the deceased delivered to him the letter for the scheduled meeting and they had a brief chat. He however, said he later received information that Mulinde has been found dead minutes after they had separated.

Muyingo also  revealed that all residents feared to notify police for fear of being arrested. He however said Mulinde’s murder doesn’t come as a surprise to those who have been following the matter since the tenants had tried to lynch him on various occasions in vain.

Jeremiah Kalangwa, another resident, said the deceased had invited the tenants to buy off their interests to allow him sell off the land.  However, most of the tenants rejected the proposal on grounds that they didn’t have money.
