If you called NTV a Nursery bed where NBS TV picks its ‘high breed seeds’ to sustain it’s ‘Political command center’slogan, you wouldn’t be very far from the truth. It’s no longer a secret that NBS has snatched a good number of the Serena based TV station, NTV by among other things, tripling their packages.
Now, the latest blow is the snatching of Douglas Lwanga, who has been hosting the most popular entertainment show programme on NTV called ‘The Beat’ where he plays music and hosts different artistes in the arts and culture industry. Douglas has been able to build a huge fan base tracing him from the days “Katogo” show on Record TV where NTV signed him from.
Doglous will now be hosting ‘After 5’ with his former NTV workmate Mc Kats, another entertainment show that runs on NBS TV from 5-6pm.
Douglas joins a host of other former NTV workmates who crossed to Kamokya based station which include; Anita Fabiola , Raymond Mujuni, Sheila Mugisha, Rukh-shana Namuyimbwa, Charles Odongtho ,MC Kats, Godfrey Badebye , Charles Ssendagire. Dean Lubowa Saava, Darren Allan Kyeyune, Solomon Sserwanja, Irene Namyalo , Waswa Chrismel, Samuel Walugembe and Wisdom Kiyonga.
The purple party host had announced February 6 on his official Face book page that he was officially leaving the Serena based station, “Sometimes life has to move on especially if better opportunities arise, that is the only way we grow. It’s not a bad thing; we are humans we always pursue better and more. The principal is simple Just be the best you can be, never settle,” Lwanga posted.
He added, “I have been watching, hearing and seeing stories about me which have shocked me. Never in my life have I ever been fired from a job as some people reported, reason being from day one in all companies I have worked, I am driven by passion.”
Today the excited presenter took up to his twitter account notifying his fans saying and said, “Boooom, Signed, Stamped and Sealed. Tell everyone its Showtime. Glad to be part of this passionate team”, and NBS also posted “welcome to the winning team@DouglasLwangaUg.”
NBS TV and Next Media CEO Mr.Kin Kariisa and Mr. Joe Kigozi, Next Media’s chief of strategy welcomed Lwanga to his new challenge and reminded him that he has joined a big brand which would attract optional talent.
Speaking about his new place of work, the entertainment maestro said that the time to deliver is now. He expressed delight at reuniting with NBS TV and promised magical performances.
“NBS has always been family; this is more of a reunion and now is the time to deliver. It’s going to be magical,” Lwanga said.
