Ugandan Pilot Perishes In DRC Forests As Plane Crashes

The sad news landing on our desk indicates that two pilots, a Ugandan and Russian national were killed after a private business plane they were flying crashed inside a forest in South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The dead pilots were identified as Jackson Ninsiima and his Russian colleague only identified as Peter who were reportedly flying to Goma from the DRC border near Kasese when their plane crashed.

Reports says the plane, Let L-410UVP-E20 Turbolet belonging to Goma Express went missing on Friday shortly after it had left the Kasese side of DRC with goods on board.

A search was carried out and through Emergency locator transmitter (ELT) found that the plane had crashed between Kasese and Lulingu in South Kivu Province jungles.
