The arrested has been identified as been identified as Vincent Mbazira, who was intercepted by authorities at the airport after flying into Uganda a consignment of hundreds of People Power attires. Some of t-shirts and caps confiscated by security were marked with words ‘Oppressed Majority’ and ‘People Power’. Mbazira was apprehended immediately after he landed at the airport from China with his attires on Tuesday afternoon. He was later whisked away to a yet to be identified security zone.  The head of police at Entebbe Airport ACP James Ruhweza confirmed Mbazira’s arrest. Ruhweza said that “We are going to interrogate him about why he was carrying such attires which are inciting violence, whom he has been dealing with and the people he was going to supply them to.”

Last December security organs banned the wearing of People Power attires like overalls, caps and t-shirts at any public gathering. Singer Bobi Wine, who supports this new wave of dressing, was banned from performing at all festive season concerts by security Minister Gen.Elly Tumwine and the police. Currently, People Power leader Bobi Wine is in Jamaica where he went to attend the recently concluded Rebel Salute Reggae concert.
