Revealed: Why President Kagame Sacked EAC Minister Nduhungirehe

Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Thursday announced the sacking Olivier Nduhungirehe, who has been minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in charge of East African Community.


But our Spies  privy to the fallout between Kagame and Nduhungirehe intimate that he was fired for being a catalyst in the matters regarding impasse between Rwanda and Uganda.

The Spies reveal that on several occasions Nduhungirehe acted contrary to instructions from his bosses in Kigali, which in one way or another frustrated the talks between Uganda and Rwanda which were aimed at restoring peaceful relations between the two countries. 

The abusive and disrespectful minister who engaged in twitter wars and arguments, with Uganda and South Africa was fired in a letter dated April 09, 2020 and signed by Prime Minister Edourd Ngirente.

“Pursuant to  Article 116 of the Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda,  of 2003 revised in 2015.

Today, 09th April 2020, the President of the Republic has removed from office Amb Olivier Nduhungirehe for consistently acting based on personal opinions over government policies, while serving as Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in charge of East African Community,” the Prime Minister’s letter reads in part.

L  Nduhungirehe, after receiving news of his firing, reportedly said that; “I am grateful to President Kagame for the trust bestowed in me for the past two years an a half, when I was privileged to serve as Minister of State in charge of the East African Community. I am committed to continue serving my country in another capacity,” said after news of his sacking was announced
